AUTO NOTES

The state Department of Motor Vehicles says its photo license bus will be at Mitchells of Westport at 670 Post Road East in Westport from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and at the Bristol Centre Mall in Bristol from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

The bus will be at the town green in Southington from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday.

NEW ENGLAND VOLKSWAGEN MEET

WOODSTOCK - The Connecticut Volkswagen Association is holding a New England Volksfest at the Woodstock Fairgrounds, routes 169 and 171, today and Sunday, rain or shine.

The event is open to all Volkswagens and all German cars, owners and fans. Hours today are noon to 5 p.m., and hours Sunday for the car show are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The entry fee is $15 for a car and driver, and $5 for passengers.

SIMSBURY CLASSIC CAR SHOW

SIMSBURY - Valley Classic Wheels is holding its annual Valley Classic Wheels benefit car show on Iron Horse Boulevard from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. The donation for show cars is $8, and for spectators it is $2. The rain date is July 15.

The Connecticut/Westchester section of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America will have an invitational concours at the event.

MERIDEN CLASSIC CAR SHOW

MERIDEN - Ground Up Restorations and the Meriden Police Union are sponsoring the annual Ground Up Classic Car Show at 63 Golden St. on Sunday from 8 a.m. to noon. All makes and models up to 1981 are welcome.The donation for each car is $10.

CORVETTE CLUB SHOW

GUILFORD - Club Corvette of Connecticut is holding its annual Corvette show on Sunday at Moroso Performance Products, Exit 59, Goose Lane off I-95. Rain date is July 15. Registration is from 8:30 a.m. to noon; the show car fee is $20, and spectators pay $5. Judging starts at noon, and the sponsor is David McDermott Auto Group of East Haven.
